WE ARE GOING TOWARDS LIFE, NOT DEATH
Our culture says that we are living beings going towards death through
the aging of the body or through accidents or illness.
But the real death is not what happens to the body, which is just like our house, like the garments we wear or vehicles we drive:
The real death abides in our not being
really present to ourselves,
in each negative thought or emotion, in our lack of love,
joy, enthusiasm and above all
in the ignorance of who we really are.
How many such moments of absence from yourself do you have?
If too many, you aren’t yet quite alive.
But you will be.
Well, it depends only on you.
The real death abides in all ways of living, desires, worries, fears, thoughts,
beliefs which do not correspond to the truth of our being,
in the conditionings set in our mind by others.
WE ARE NOT GOING TOWARDS DEATH
BUT TO OUR INNER REBIRTH
In the course of your personal growth and evolution you will discover who you really are and really start living.
Imagine that you have just died
but have a chance to come back to life in the same body
and mind you have now: would you not
desperately want it?
The first step is the full realization that the life of our body was a gift, besides being a test, but
the true life of our soul is a CONQUEST,
and until we achieve it we remain
mostly inwardly dead.
Or to put it less harshly,
remain lost in their deep inner slumber.
Listen once more to these words of Ramana Maharshi:
Within the prison of your world appears a man who tells you that the world
of painful contradictions, which you have created, is neither continuous
nor permanent, and is based on a misapprehension.
He pleads with you to get out of it just like you got into it: you got into it
by forgetting what you are and must get out of it
by knowing yourself as you are.
